True Digital, a subsidiary of one of Thailand's largest telecoms providers, needed to predict COVID-19 movement and spread using location data from over 30 million customers. Their existing system processed data in over 15 hours — far too slow for timely public health decision-making.
02 · Our approach
Ideaology's data engineers and solution architects collaborated to design and implement an optimised data architecture. We reconfigured the system, leveraging BigQuery, GCS, and Kafka to dramatically reduce processing time. The primary challenge was the sheer volume of data — over 30 million customers continuously transmitting location data to cell towers every few seconds.
