01 · The brief
Navigating busy city streets can be confusing, especially when exiting underground stations. Traditional navigation apps required movement before correctly orienting the user. Strydr was designed to provide a more intuitive and efficient walking experience using a compass overlay and simple waypoint guidance.
02 · Our approach
Ideaology delivered a full suite of development services to bring Strydr from an initial concept to a fully operational app. We developed proof-of-concepts to validate technological feasibility, integrated Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Foursquare for location data, and created a revenue model through location-aware advertising. The app was built to work even without a data connection.
03 · The outcome
Apple ranked Strydr higher than Google Maps in the Walking Apps category. The app launched with a feature-rich experience, receiving countless 5-star ratings. Strydr saved significant time on hiring by leveraging Ideaology's full team of senior designers, developers, QA engineers, and project managers.
